The Pakistani entertainment industry is in a chaos ever since the accusations of Meeha Shafi against the most famous and renown Ali Zafar—who has not only made a place in the Pakistan entertainment industry but has also impressed millions with his performance in the neighbouring entertainment industry.
Following the sexual harassment accusations many celebrities came forward and expressed their opinions and relevant experiences on the matter. Ali Zafar to all this responded by saying that he would take legal action against Meesha Shafi and has sent her a hundred million legal notice.
On Monday, Ali Zafar sent a legal notice to Meesha Shafi demanding her either to delete the tweet that accuses the singer cum actor of harassment and issue an apology for defaming Ali or pay the amount of at least hundred million rupees under the defamation ordinance as per the reports of local media.
Meesha Shafi took it to Twitter to share her sexual harassment experience in the wake of #MeToo campaign that is presently one of the hottest issues around the world. The lady singer accused Ali of sexually harassing her not once but on multiple occasions.
Sharing this because I believe that by speaking out about my own experience of sexual harassment, I will break the culture of silence that permeates through our society. It is not easy to speak out.. but it is harder to stay silent. My conscience will not allow it anymore #MeToo pic.twitter.com/iwex7e1NLZ
