It has been announced by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Pakistan Super League (PSL) management that Ali Khan Tareen has won the franchise rights for the 6th team of PSL.
Reports have confirmed that Ali Khan Tareen made a bid which surpasse the reserved price.
The reserved price set by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was $5.21 million per annum for a span of 7 years. The reserve price was surpassed by Ali.
Following a hectic procedure, only two bidders competed to become the next owners of the 6th PSL team.
As per PCB official, an irresistible response was received from throughout Pakistan however jus two candidates have so far moved on to the final stage of the procedure.
The bidders who moved to the final stage of the procedure are as follows:
Ali Khan Tareen—he is the son of Jahangir Khan Tareen
Osman Osman—he is Pakistan born Consortium from South Africa
The spot for the 6th team opened after Multan Sultans remained unsuccessful in paying their dues to PCB. Their agreement was suspended 1 year after the franchise was given over to the owners.
Additionally, Ehsan Mani also drafted many letters personally to all the BoG members informing that Multan Sultans had broken their PSL agreement.
The new owners would be having the privilege of choosing the name and the city of the 6th team, they could choose Multan Sultans again if they want to.
