After witnessing an increase in the cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), the AJK government has decided to implement a stricter version of the smart lockdown.
According to the details about the government’s decision, those going out of homes without any solid reason will be fined Rs500 and children under the age of 12 will not be allowed to go out of their homes during the coronavirus lockdown.
Similarly, the citizens above the age of 60 will not be allowed to go out of their homes as the deadly virus, if contracted, impacts the old disproportionately.
According to the details, traders, shopkeepers, hotel owners found violating the lockdown imposed by the government due to the coronavirus outbreak will have to pay a heavy fine.
It is worth mentioning here that the confirmed cases of novel coronavirus in the region have increases to 271 and as many as seven people have lost their lives after getting infected with the deadly virus.
According to the stats shared through the official portal, as many as 170 people have made recovery from the novel coronavirus so far.
As per the official notification issued by the government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), a smart lockdown has been imposed for another 15 days.
All the educational institutions, shrines, playgrounds, and cinemas will remain closed, while public gatherings are also prohibited, according to the official notification.
