Aijaz Mazhar has been appointed as an acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the national carrier flag of Pakistan on Thursday.
After assuming the charge of the office PIA CEO, he got a complete briefing from the directors of the board and officials regarding the current working of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).
The newly appointed acting CEO of PIA directed the officials of the airline for the smooth running of the matters of the national airline.
An important meeting of the Board of the Directors of the PIA was held in Karachi on Wednesday after the order of the top court of the country to uphold the Sindh High Court’s decision barring Air Marshal Arshad Malik from discharging his duties as the Chief Executive Officer of PIA.
The meeting of the directors had decided to appoint a three-member body to run the affairs of the national carrier flag of Pakistan. The three-member body would include the governing board members— Naveed Malik, Tariq Kirmani and Atif Bajwa.
The board further appointed the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the national airline Aijaz Mazhar for a supervisory role aimed at running the day-to-day affairs of the Pakistan International Airlines.
