After Twitter, Now Facebook and Google Employees Are Working From Home

Amid Coronavirus scares, Twitter previously advised workers to work from home as a precautionary measure to a deadly virus that is out breaking at an exponential rate. Social media giant Facebook and search giant Google have also joined the pool; both the giants have advised their employees working at San Francisco Bay area to work from home in order to minimize the risk of spreading the Covid-19 virus.

“We strongly recommend that all Bay area employees and contingent staff should work from home starting from Friday.” Said, Facebook.

According to the details provided by Reuters, the decision was based on the guidance of Santa Clara Country on Thursday. Facebook’s spokesperson Anthony Harrison said in an email response.

However, other employees and third-party contractors that are working for the security and safety of the site will continue to work there, and all Bay area events would be canceled. The clerical and technical staff including operational staff would remain at their homes and work from there from now on.

Coronavirus Spread Update

Covid-19 is going nowhere in recent times but spreading very fast, the total number of reported cases has reached 98,385 globally at the time of writing out of which 80,555 cases are in China. The United States has witnessed 233 affected cases so far which is even growing further. After China, South Korea, Italy, and Iran have the most reported cases 6,284, 3,858 and 3,513 respectively.
