After the PSX attack, Sindh assembly building could be the target of a terrorist attack

Agha Siraj Durrani—the Speaker of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh told the lawmakers of the house on Monday that the assembly building could be the target of a terrorist attack.

As per the details, the statement by the Speaker Sindh Assembly issued a few hours after the gun-and-grenade attack at the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Monday.

During the session of the Sindh Assembly, the Speaker Durrani informed the members of the house that the Sindh Assembly had been facing threats of terror attacks. He said that he had earlier received warnings that the building of the Sindh Assembly could come under the terrorist attack.

He further said that the photographs of the building of the Sindh’s provincial assembly had been recovered from the terrorists who were earlier arrested.

“After receiving threats of the terrorist attack, the security measures for the building of Sindh Assembly had been heightened,” he added.

Speaker said that the Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah was fully apprised of the entire situation. He further advised the members of the provincial assembly to remain fully alert to such a threatening situation.

The sensational statement of the speaker came in the immediate backdrop of the attack of the Pakistan Stock Exchange building in Karachi earlier in the day.
