Abdul Sattar Edhi still after his departure is receiving awards from the world. Faisal Edhi, the son of Abdul Sattar Edhi, recently received the 22nd Nikkei Asian Award in Tokyo. Edhi Foundation has been the pioneers in helping the helpless of Pakistan.

Abdul Sattar Edhi founded Edhi Foundation in 1951 when he first started the free clinic for the poor. The foundation is now the world’s largest welfare society and has helped millions since its first inauguration.

Faisal Edhi said on the ceremony of Nikkei Asian Award in Tokyo:

We are proud to run all of these activities with the local support of the Pakistani people

The biggest catch of the foundation is its funds all coming from Pakistanis within and outside. The foundation has a policy of not accepting any funds from the government of Pakistan. And this makes the foundation the largest non-governmental welfare organization.
