Saad Awan, a businessman was kidnapped from the city a couple of days ago. The police has been able to recover the abducted businessman.
Saad runs an auto showroom in Rawat. He was kidnapped by over 12 men who came in two sports utility vehicles (SUVs).
Saad’s brother informed the police that after his abduction he received a call from an unknown number. Instead of the abductors, Saad spoke from the other end of the phone.
Saad informed his brother that he is being held hostage and Rs 2 million ransom is required to set him free. Saad’s family quickly involved the Sihala police and registered a complaint. The family suspected business rivals to be involved in the kidnapping. A case was filed by the police against the suspects including Majid Shah, Raheem Shah, and 10-12 other unidentified men.
The police launched raids and successfully traced and recovered the victim. Even though Saad was safely recovered the officer was not able to arrest any suspects.
It is commendable that the police was able to safely recover the businessman. It will be a relief not just for the family of Saad but also the whole Pakistani nation who generally believes that the police of the country is ineffective.
