Ab Aur Nahin, a pro bono online portal has been launched by the Digital Rights Foundation. The portal is specifically for women who are looking for legal and psychological counseling.
This includes cases of harassments and violence. Through the website, the victims and survivors of violence will be able to get linked to different resources and qualified experts and pro bono lawyers through which they will be able to get help.
Since the #Metoo movement has gained momentum, more and more people have found the courage to voice harassment cases. Many women have come forward and shared their incidents.
Nighat Dad, Executive Director, Digital Rights Foundation said, “The #MeToo movement has opened the floodgates for women’s testimonies and stories; it has also shown us the true scale of the problem as it stands in Pakistan as well as around the world. Institutional support and resources are needed to provide both legal and mental health support to survivors of harassment.”
The portal will allow women to take legal action against those who harassed them. Presently the portal has 42 lawyers from all over Pakistan. Out of these 26 are women lawyers.
