“I was on duty in Al Nahda, Al Qusais to inspect the parked cars in the paid parking areas. I spotted a car with a paid ticket on which the mentioned month had been changed by handwriting. The fare which was paid and the time of the parking mentioned on the ticket did not match,” a 51-year-old Jordanian inspector with the Road and Transport Authority (RTA) told the public prosecutor.

“It was much clearer that the parking ticket was issued on May 16 but the owner of the car has changed the month on the ticket to June 16 and left the ticket on the car’s front. First, I report the whole situation to my superior and then to the Dubai Police department,” she added.

During the legal proceedings, the woman had admitted that she had got a paid parking ticket on May 16, 2016, and changed the month from 5 (May) to 6 (June) and used the same ticket on June 16, 2016, to avoid buying a new ticket.
