One of the most famous and veteran actors of the Bollywood industry, Rishi Kapoor passed away on Thursday. As per the details, he died at the age of 67 and had leukaemia. According to the Indian media, the brother of Rishi, Randhir Kapoor had confirmed the news about his demise.
A statement from his family said that he fought a two-year-long battle with leukemia and passed away at the Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital in Mumbai. The family members further said that he was hospitalized in Mumbai on Wednesday and passed away on Thursday.
It is pertinent to mention here that Rishi, 67, returned to India last September after undergoing treatment in the US for almost a year. In May 2019, Rishi had confirmed that he was cancer-free after first being diagnosed with the disease in 2018. He was hospitalized twice in the month of February.
Rishi’s death is the second setback for the Bollywood industry this week. Just a day ago on Wednesday Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan passed away in Mumbai after medical complications arising from a colon infection.
