A petition has been filed against the social media app TikTok, seeking censorship on TikTok and similar apps. According to details, a petition has been filed in the Peshawar High Court against the social media app TikTok, the petition has been filed by a citizen Ismat Asim.
The petition said that what is happening on TikTok is not allowed by Islam and our society, people upload immoral videos on TikTok, due to which the incidents of suicides have been increasing in the country.
The petition called for censorship on TikTok and on similar apps as obscenity is on the rise due to TikTok. It may be recalled that the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) had demanded the removal of unethical content from the video-sharing application TikTok.
While acknowledging the recent efforts of PTA to remove immoral content from video sharing platforms, the Chairman PTA had demanded from TikTok that a strong and moderate approach be taken to monitor the content so that Pakistan I could not access illegal content. PTA has also contacted YouTube twice in the last few weeks in order to block unethical, vulgar, and hate speech content from the platform that can be viewed in Pakistan.
