The police have arrested a man for allegedly killing his wife for not serving him hot meal during sehri in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Shalkanabad area in Upper Kohistan.
While speaking to the media, the Station House Officer (SHO) at the Dasu police station Muhammad Haq said that the initial investigations suggested that the victim was killed by her spouse after she failed to serve a hot meal during sehri.
The SHO Dasu police station said that the first information report (FIR) was registered on the complaint filed by the deceased’s father. Her father further told the police that the accused is his nephew.
“The father was performing ablution just after sehri when he heard a gunshot from the couple’s room. When he went to investigate, he found his daughter lying in a pool of blood. Meanwhile, the accused had managed to escape from the scene,” he said. He further said that the police have managed to arrest the suspect with the help of the father of the victim.
According to the details shared through the FIR, the victim was 19-year-old and had gotten married about two years ago. The police have registered a case under Section 302 (murder) of the Pakistan Penal Code against the suspect and have begun further investigations.
