An African man living in Fujairah landed in the court to face the charges of flying a drone without permission from the authorities.
According to the details, the young African had flown the drone at a high altitude with permission from the concerned authorities which is a blatant violation of the UAE law.
The Fujairah Police detained the suspect and referred him to the public prosecution for further legal action against him.
During the hearing of the charges against him, the man denied breaking the law. “I work in a toy shop, and was only trying a drone for some customers,” he said.
He also said in the court that he didn’t have permission from the concerned authorities to fly a drone at a high altitude.
The Fujairah Misdemeanour Court, however, ordered to adjourn the hearing of the case until the next week to issue its ruling.
It is pertinent to mention here that it is not allowed to fly drones more than 400 feet above ground level in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
