A gang in Karachi is placing locks on the gas meters activated in the city and are asking for money from the citizens in order to resume the supply, as per the reports of local media.
A group of unknown men is found involved in forcing people to pay them after blocking their gas meters by putting locks on it. After placing a lock on the gas meters, they leave a handwritten slip with a mobile number for the poor victim to pay out the money via Easypaisa for getting their gas supply resumed.
The spokesperson of the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has denied that the gas connections were being blocked by the staff members. As per the issued statement, the SSGC staff members always get a copy of a gas bill from the consumer before they take any action.
The spokesperson asked the citizens to launch their complaints or to report on its helpline number 1199 or 0323-8213346 or on its official email address which is [email protected] if any person or a group asks for money for the restoration of the gas supply.
On the other hand, as per the latest development, the residents of the city of Faisalabad could now get their vegetables and fruits delivered at their doorsteps and that too at comparatively cheaper rates.
