A diamond worth 45 million euros stolen from a hotel in Paris

According to the authorities, a diamond worth 45 million euros has allegedly been stolen from a luxury hotel in Paris. As per the details, the high-cost diamond was stolen by the two men who posed as precious stones experts.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office of Paris said that it has started a preliminary investigation into an alleged planned heist that took place in a hotel situated in the VIII district.

The investigation into the organized heist has been handed over to the police of the Brigade de Répression du Banditisme (Banditry Repression Brigade), a special unit in Paris that supervises the armed robbery, serious thefts and scams probes and operates under the Interior Ministry.

According to the details, the victim is a Guinean national and she had made an afternoon appointment for May 13 at the Warwick hotel for a valuation of her 43.5-carat diamond.

Two men spent some time talking with the owner at the bar of the hotel during which one of the suspects examined the diamond before returning to its owner.

But two days after the meeting, the owner, a lady, approached the police to report that her diamond had been stolen after she discovered that her precious stone had been replaced by imitation.
