71 Private Colleges Affiliation to be Cancelled

The University of Sargodha organization has decided and affirmed the disaffiliation of seventy-one private colleges owing to the poor performance and not meeting the set standards. This decision was approved in the last and final meeting of the university association in the year 2017.

It also agreed upon the making of the Noon Business School. Additionally, an evening program is to be launched this verdict was also affirmed by the association. The evening program could be a certificate program, diploma and a degree in MSc offered in military sciences and management.

Along with these decisions, the revision of the service status of the grade one to twenty-one employees was also suggested.

The syndicate also approved for the hiring of more than one hundred and fifty regular faculty members for the various departments of the university, including eight professors, thirty-two assistant professors, nine associate professors and eight lecturers. The appointments would be made via transparent merit-based system as suggested by the selection boards.

It also approved to provide fifteen PhD degrees to the candidates of various faculties. It also endorsed the increment of two hundred to four hundred percent in the compensation benefits for the families of the deceased employees during their serving period.

The meeting was led by Dr Ishtiaq Ahmed—Vice Chancellor and all the organization member took part including the Dr Nadia Aziz—Parliamentarian, Prof Dr. Hassan Amir Shah—GCU Lahore, Waris Kaloo and Gazanfar Cheena—Parliamentarians and the officials from the Higher Education Commission, education department secretary and the principals of the Mianwali and Jauharabad colleges.
