As the federal government of Pakistan has decided to bring the people into the tax net, the number of taxpayers has increased to 700,000 in the period of one year.
The statistics about the taxpayers of Pakistan have been shared by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

According to the details, the number of taxpayers in Pakistan rose by 700,000 to a total of 2.154 million. The details further said that the out of the total, 700,000 are salaried people.
The tax department further said that the proposals to impose fixed taxes were being considered to bring the owners of the small and big business into the tax network.
The Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Chaudhry Fawad Hussain while hailing the government’s achievement, tweeted that 2.1 million people of Pakistan have so far filed their tax returns, which was the highest in the history of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
