7 Schools in Rawalpindi Sealed for Staying Open Despite Closure Orders


On Saturday, seven schools in Rawalpindi were sealed by the Rawalpindi District Administration as they were found open regardless of the closure orders given by the government.

As per the reports, Anwarul Haq Deputy instructed the Commissioner Defence Department team to survey numerous areas in order to check all those schools which were confronting the extended winter vacations announced by the government.

The survey operation was supervised by Talib Hussain CDD District Officer. In some schools, the main gates were closed but the employees were working inside. Some schools were still taking admissions. According to Talib Hussain, the survey will now be carried out on a daily basis till the 24th of December. If any school is found open, it will be immediately sealed.

In the last 24 hours, 113 new coronavirus cases have been reported in Pindi and 3 more people have lost their battle against the virus.

The deputy commissioner revealed that 40 cases were reported from Rawal Town, 25 were discovered in Potohar Town, 21 from Kahuta, Rawalpindi Cantonment reported 12 cases, 8 were reported from Kallar Sayyedan, 8 from Taxila, 1 from Gujjar Khan, and 1 from Kottli Sattian.

Around 50 patients were admitted to Rawalpindi Institute of Urology, 24 people were admitted to Holy Family Hospital, 8 to Red Crescent International, 28 to Benazir Bhutto Hospital whereas 4 were admitted to Hearts International Hospital.

Moreover, on Saturday, NCOC reported that 447 new coronavirus cases were reported in Islamabad within 24 hours.
