The World Health Organization (WHO) has said that if air pollution is reduced and pollution rates are kept within the limits set by the WHO, 50,000 deaths a year could be avoided in Europe alone.

According to the WHO, the amount of PM2.5 in the air should be within 10 mg per cubic meter. According to the report, limiting the amount of PM2.5 and nitrous oxide in the air will prevent 51,213 premature deaths on an annual basis in Europe alone. Significantly, air pollution kills 7 million people worldwide each year.
