It was revealed by the Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Aminul Haq that the government is planning to launch 5G technology by December 2022. However, the experts in various fields feel that the country is going to make much longer time than this.
According to the report, all of them believed that 5G would be extremely beneficial to Pakistan’s economy.

IT ministry constituted a committee to implement 5G in the country and Iftikhar is part of it. Former secretary general of Pakistan Software Houses Association ([email protected]) Shehryar Hydri stated that the government will be able to launch 5G in limited areas by 2022. But it would take 3 to 5 years for the spread of the new technology across Pakistan.
Arif Habib Limited Head of Research Tahir Abbas stated, “With 80% teledensity and 40% of the population using 3G/4G network, there is immense potential in this field and 5G will further transform the digital landscape.”
