A National Book Fair (NBF) would be starting in Islamabad at the Pak-China Friendship Centre from Friday, that is the 6th of April 2018. The Book Fair would be of four days.
As per the reports of Radio Pakistan famous literary personnel, book lovers, well-known writers, poets, book ambassadors, students of arts and scholars would be participating in the fair.
Publishers from different countries including Iran, China and Turkey would also be taking part in the Book Fair and would be exhibiting the books of their respective nations.
Irfan Siddiqui—Advisor to the Prime Minister on National History and Literary Heritage expressed his hopes with the Fair that it would definitely be serving as a treat for the book lovers of the federal capital who would be able to buy the books of their choice and that too on discounted rates and they would also be able to take part in the activities that would be taking place at the Book Fair.
It is expected that many people would be taking part in the Fair this year. It is being strived by the authorities organizing the National Book Fair that the best possible arrangements are provided to the Fair visitors.
Though it may sound old-fashioned and conventional, however, Book Fairs are something still loved and appreciated by the people. Living in the present times, when everything is available on the internet and there e-versions present of almost all the books still people love to get a hold of a book and read from that. Technology may have taken up our lives but this particular habit is such that I don’t think any technology could ever take the goodness one feels when one decides to sit by the window or some favourite spot in the home with a cup of coffee or tea and a beautifully assembled book in hand.
