The 3rd largest mosque of the world to be established in Karachi—Bahira Town. The mosque would be built on the same patterns of Masjid-al-Haram and Masjid-e-Nabwi. The huge mosque would have the capacity for 800,000 worshippers.

The news about the largest mosque was shared by Bahria Town with the Islamic world in an official statement on the website.

The statement mentions that Masjid-al-Haram which is in Makkah and Masjid-e-Nabwi which is in Madina are the first and the second largest Masajids of the world. Keeping respect to their sanctity, no masjid could be more sacred than these Holy masjids. After these holy mosques, the masjid being established in Bahria Town Karachi would be the 3rd largest one of the world.

The masjid would be housing an international university, besides an Islamic cultural centre, a research centre and a museum.

Presently, the Bahria Town Lahore has got the 7th largest mosque of the world named Grand Jamia Masjid which could house 70,000 namazis. It is also currently the largest mosque of the country after Faisal Masjid in Islamabad.

As per the released statement, the Bahria Town Karachi masjid is being built with Islamic and Mughal style architecture and has taken inspiration from the mosques in Iran, Kuwait, Turkey and Malaysia.

The mosque would have state of the art air-conditioning, water supply system and a thermal powerhouse among much more.
