According to the provincial government spokesperson Liaquat Shahwani, as two new cases of novel coronavirus have been confirmed in Balochistan, the total number of COVID-19 cases in the province has reached 10 while in Pakistan they are 33.
Three new cases of novel coronavirus have surfaced in Pakistan. One of the cases is in Islamabad and another is a locally transmitted case in Karachi.
Recently, a woman arrived in Islamabad from the United States. As per the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences health facility’s spokesperson Dr. Waseem Khawaja, the woman tested positive for coronavirus.
He added that the patient is in critical condition and has been put on a ventilator. In Sindh, the total number of coronavirus patients has risen to 17.
During a meeting of the coronavirus task force, Secretary Health Zahid Abbasi told Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, that one patient quite recently returned from Saudi Arabia and another patient’s father had a travel history of the United Kingdom and transmitted the virus to his young child.
Also, the samples of second patient’s father were taken by the provincial health department.
Now Sindh has 2 locally transmitted cases of coronavirus.
Murad Ali Shah said, “This is why I am continuously pursuing the matter to contain coronavirus,”
Adding that this is why all kinds of social, political and religious gatherings across Sindh have been banned.
The first patient is a 38-year-old man from Sindh. He arrived in Sindh from Saudi Arabia and tested positive. Due to this alarming situation, the Sindh government has decided to close all educational institutions till May 30.
