December is the month that marks the end of one year and the beginning of another. It is the month of analyzing our past mistakes and making new resolutions for the upcoming year. But it is also the month of celebration & happiness.
The date 25th December has significance worldwide. All over the world, Christians celebrate Christ’s birthday on this date while in Pakistan 25th December marks the birthday of the Founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam.
This year 25th December will be marked on Monday so enjoy the long weekend but remember that every breath we take in this free land is because of efforts of Quaid and sacrifices made by our forefathers.
Christians celebrate Christ’s birthday on 25th December, they exchange gifts, decorate the Christmas tree, greet each other with ‘Merry Christmas’, and beautify their house with alluring candles.
In Pakistan, winter vacations have also been announced. The schools in Sindh would remain off from 22nd December to 31st December for winter holidays. In Punjab government schools, colleges and universities will have winter vacation from 24th December 2017 to 3rd January 2018. Other provinces of Pakistan will have the winter holidays on almost similar dates. Most of the Pakistani institutions will have holidays in between last week of December and 1st week of January.
