A French multinational pharmaceutical company Sanofi has launched a next generation 24-hour effective basal insulin in Pakistan.
At a public event attended by the leading doctors in Karachi the “Insulin Glargine U300” was introduced.
The insulin will work for 24 hours, rather than the present insulins that just work for 12 hours. They will help in improving the blood sugar in diabetes patients for a whole day.
The insulin is manufactured at Sanofi’s ‘Insulin City’ in Germany. Diabetic patients can purchase it all over Pakistan on prescription.
Food and Drug Authority (FDA) in 2015 approved the basal insulin and since then it has launched in many countries including the USA, Canada, Russia, Japan and India.
The insulin will ensure stable blood sugar control for 24 hours. It will provide not just dosage flexibility but also empower the patients.
Country chair and general manager Sanofi Pakistan Asim Jamal said, “It is our endeavor to bring innovative solutions to patients to improve their health.”
It is a great initiative that has been taken for the diabetic patients. It will ensure that their health remains stable for a whole day and save them from the trouble of injecting insulin twice a day.
