2017: The Year of Pakistan Cricket

Till now 2017 is the year of Pakistan Cricket. Pakistan won ICC Champions Trophy 2017 beating India, Pakistan became the top T-20 team in the world, Pakistan players became best bowlers and best all-rounders this year, and cricket came back in Pakistan with Sri Lankan team back in the country after eight long years. So in short 2017 has become the year of Pakistan Cricket.

Let’s start with PSL. Peshawar Zalmi won PSL season 2 but the important news is that its final was played in Lahore and international players did come and played the final despite having security concerns.

Then on 18th June 2017, Pakistan won ICC Champions Trophy beating India and making history.

Hasan Ali, the young Pakistani bowler topped ODI ranking for bowlers while Mohammed Hafeez became the best All-rounder.

Sri Lankan team came back to Pakistan after eight long years and played the T-20 third and last match in Lahore. This opened further doors for Pakistan cricket.

Just recently, after Pakistan won T-20 series with Sri Lanka and then New Zealand lost playing India, Pakistan became the top T-20 cricket team in the world.

Looking back at 2017, analyzing Pakistan cricket, performance and ranking it can be said that 2017 is the year of Pakistan cricket.
