The Commission on Inquiry of Enforced Disappearance data revealed that 2002 persons whos missing reports were lodged by their families returned to their homes safely across the country.
The Commission statistics show that a total of 2002 persons from 2011-19 returned to their homes after their missing reports were lodged to the commission.
The data of the commission further showed that 639 persons who returned to their homes belong to Punjab, 640 persons belong to Sindh, 396 persons belong to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 159 people belong to Balochistan, 119 people from Federal Capital of Islamabad, 40 persons belong to erstwhile FATA, and 9 persons belonging to Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The statistics shared by the commission also mentioned that it arranged 675 proceedings in different cities of the country to hear the families of the victims adding that 253 proceedings conducted in Islamabad, 24 in Lahore, 83 in Peshawar, 85 in Quetta, while 230 proceedings conducted in Karachi.
The commission further added that it has traced 36 persons in month of January in which 25 returned to their homes safely while 33 cases have been erased due to no required record.
