200 scholarships have been announced by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government for the deserving students across the province.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has made the announcement that the scholarships will be given to the deserving students that are registered with the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) will issue the scholarships. The successful students from class 7th to intermediate will have the opportunity to acquire free education, under the scholarship program.
Only those students who will pass the test scheduled on 26th January 2020 will be awarded scholarships.
Previous month, Prime Minister Imran Khan launched the Ehsaas Undergraduate Scholarship Program in Islamabad.
While addressing the ceremony he said, “Providing 50,000 scholarships each year to undergraduates is a big step towards higher education.”
5 billion rupees are to be allocated per year and 50,000 undergraduate students will be given scholarships annually along with accommodation expenses as per Sania Nishtar.
She said, “50 percent scholarships will be given to women students while 2 percent to physically disabled persons.”
The scholarships will be offered in agriculture, arts and humanitarians, business education, engineering, medical, physical sciences, and social sciences.
In an earlier article, we told our readers that Pakistan is offering scholarships to 1,000 Afghan students, as part of the Allama Iqbal Scholarship Programme. The Higher Education Commission Pakistan has given the grant. The aim of the grant is to promote education in Afghanistan along with helping the children from poor backgrounds to get an education.
