20 new buses

At least 20 new buses of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system has reached Peshawar on Wednesday.

As per a statement issued in Peshawar, Shahram Khan Tarakai—the Provincial Minister for local government said that a segregate portion for men and women have been managed in these state-of-the-art buses.

He informed that the BRT network would be officially opened for traffic on the 23rd of March.

Mahmood Khan—the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on the 27th of January paid a surprise visit to Peshawar Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project.

During the visit, Mahmood Khan saw the construction work at the various points of the project and he also interacted with the labourers and the officials. He instructed the authorities to accelerate the pace of work on the Peshawar BRT project and further added that he himself would be looking after the project.

The KP chief minister also instructed the officials to make sure that the standard and quality of the BRT project is maintained. He gave warning of strict action over any delay in the project.

The chief minister said that the project ahould reach completion within the provided time and with maximum transparency.

Prime Minister—Imran Khan back in the month of September last year instructed to complete the Peshawar Bus Rapid Transit project and Swat Motorway in due time.
