20 percent concession in school fee has been abolished by the Sindh government. Earlier this concession was announced amidst the COVID-19 restrictions back in April.
According to the report, through the Sindh Emergency Relief Act the relief was given to parents. But on Saturday the clause was removed from the Act and also the notification in this regard was removed.
Another notification was issued as per which the decision was taken during the meeting of the provincial cabinet. It will come into effect on 1st October.
All private schools will be allowed to charge a full tuition fee, following the development. On 7th April, the concession to families affected by the pandemic was announced.
Initially the fee reduction was announced for three months. Later it was increased for another 3 months amidst the worsened economic condition of the country and school closure.
Action was taken against many schools for violating the orders by the government and the court during the time period.
